DAVIS CUP NEWS Nadal, Ferrero out of Spanish Davis Cup
MADRID, Spain (AP) - Rafael Nadal and Juan Carlos Ferrero will not represent Spain in the country's Davis Cup tie against Belarus next month, team captain Emilio Sanchez Vicario said Sunday.
Sanchez Vicario said David Ferrer will lead the team, which will also include Tommy Robredo, Feliciano Lopez and Fernando Verdasco.
Nadal, last year's second-ranked player, has been left out because of a left-foot injury. Ferrero had an abdominal injury at the Australian Open.
Sanchez Vicario said it was better not to push their recoveries too soon.
Lopez and Verdasco are expected to form the doubles team.
