FERRERO CONFIRMED FOR AUCKLAND 2007
Former World number one Juan Carlos Ferrero has been confirmed as the latest entrant for the 2007 Heineken Open.
Ferrero joins a growing list of top ranked players including Tommy Robredo, Mario Ancic and defending champion Jarkko Nieminen.
The Spaniard will return to Auckland for the third time, where he will attempt to recapture the form that saw him win four titles in 2003.
Speaking from the ATP Masters Cup in Shanghai, Tournament Director Graham Pearce said it's a major plus to get another world class player.
Pearce says you don't get to number one in the world and win the French Open unless you're a classy player.
He said Ferrero will be looking to kick his year off and earn some court time.
Pearce is hopeful of announcing another top ranked player before the field closes in just over a week.
