SAFIN INTERVIEW Here are some excerpts from Marat's interview today where he talks about his knee injury and playing JC in the 3rd round.
Q. What does it mean for the continuation of the tournament and then Wimbledon?
MARAT SAFIN: No, still I have one day off. Try to take care of it. Try to make some ?? I don't know, try to speak to the doctors. And we'll see. I'll get a treatment tomorrow morning, afternoon, take some pills, some painkillers, and try to go out and play against Ferrero. I will see.

Q. Playing Ferrero when your knee doesn't feel so good doesn't sound like a very good situation.
MARAT SAFIN: I know that. I know that. We'll see.
I mean, one day I can take some things that will relieve the pain and I can continue and can try and finish my tournament here, and then I can stop for a couple of weeks and try to recover. Why not?
But I definitely will come out on the court and play against him. Then just if I need two weeks off, I will take two weeks off. If I need more, I will take more.
But I definitely want to finish the tournament and I want to finish it good.
Q. What makes a difference when you play against Juan Carlos?
MARAT SAFIN: What makes a difference, it's very important, the conditions of the court. Because his game is a little bit ?? he can play ?? he can take one meter, couple of meters back from the baseline, he can play from there. Me, on the other hand, I cannot do that. I need to be really in good shape physically. And of course the courts, they have to be good, so I can step in. So I can play fast. Because otherwise, if I start to make rallies with him, he is better than me.
So the courts here are pretty good. Need to be focused. Try to be consistent on my serve and try to risk a little bit on his. Then with a little bit of luck, I think I can break him.
